Visiting the Excellence Training Center at YSU

This week, members of the Olsträd Engineering team visited the Excellence Training Center at YSU. We met with representatives from the university to discuss our mutual goals and interesting developments. We were also given a tour of the training center, which is full of state-of-the-art technology. As certified FANUC integrators, we were excited by their labs full of FANUC equipment for training.

There are also CNC simulators, 3D CAD simulators, 3D printers, virtual welding stations, and more. The university is very committed to their STEM college, and are focused on getting more students excited about STEM fields. The college also hosts K-12 camps to encourage younger students to pursue STEM.

The college also offers workforce development programs for certifications, and customized employee training for companies. While their focus is on cutting edge technology, there are programs for traditional trades as well.

Overall, we were impressed by the university’s commitment to STEM and STEM technology. The Excellence Training Center is an exciting place with lots of potential. We’re looking forward to attending more events at YSU and strengthening our relationship with YSU and the community.
