We recently spoke with our senior technician, Will Donaldson, about his upcoming retirement. He also told us a little bit about himself, his background in technical work, and what he plans to do in his retired life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFrom the time I was in third grade, my dad had a machine shop, so I grew up around this stuff. Initially, I didn’t go into this line of work; I started out a couple years at a plastic plant, then started doing tree work. I did that for 17 years, but it was really hard on my body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I left there, and after taking some time off, I went back to school. Two years later, I got my associate\u2019s degree in Computer Aided Design at ATT.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s when I was hired at Kromschr\u00f6der Inc. After a few years they closed, and I came on board with Steve and Brian.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

(When Kromschr\u00f6der Inc. closed in 2007, Will started working at Olstr\u00e4d Engineering (then Thermal Products & Solutions), a company started by Steve Ogonek and Brian Hall, former President and VP of Sales at Kromschr\u00f6der Inc.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The thing I liked best about Olstr\u00e4d is that you were never just stuck doing one thing. You weren\u2019t in an office all day, or just stuck in a work shop. You always have something new to work on. I\u2019m going to miss it. And I\u2019m going to miss arguing with the boss, too.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once I officially retire, I plan on working with bees and helping my son with his landscape and supply company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019d also like to say to the young people here, enjoy life while you can. Take your vacations, go do what you want to do, because when you get old you can\u2019t. Enjoy your life.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
