Kaitlin Detmer is the Administrative Assistant at Olstr\u00e4d Engineering. In her role, she\u2019s responsible for customer service, processing orders, and office filing among other things. She\u2019s an avid reader, and enjoys going for walks with her German Sheppard, Gouda. We recently spoke with her about her position at Olstr\u00e4d, the challenges she\u2019s faced so far, and what she likes best about working here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMy background is in retail management, which really helps when servicing customers. You have to be able to go with the flow; sometimes issues come up and customers are unhappy. It takes a thick skin, but good communication skills are necessary to create and maintain healthy relationships with customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes a customer isn\u2019t sure what parts they need, and I have to help them figure it out. I have to make sure customers get what they need; giving them the wrong parts could be disastrous. Learning all the different parts we carry and what they\u2019re used for has been a challenge, but Jennifer, Clint, Ross, and the rest of the team are always there to help. Everyone is so knowledgeable, and willing to share in their knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Olstr\u00e4d Engineering really is a great place to work. Jennifer has been amazing guiding me through the process so far. Little by little, I get more responsibility, so there\u2019s definitely room for growth here. There\u2019s also a great work life balance at Olstr\u00e4d. I worked in retail for 16 years, and this was the first time I could have the holidays off to spend time with my family and that\u2019s something I don\u2019t take for granted at all.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
