Safety Relief Valve VSBV

The safety relief valve VSBV reduces temporary pressure surges in the controlled system, especially upstream of burners, to avoid accidental actuation of the safety shut-off valve JSAV.

The safety relief valve prevents sudden pressure increases in case of gas leakages due to the gas governors not closing tightly. It is specified for gas pressure regulating plants with inlet pressures > 100 mbar, in conjunction with a JSAV acc. to the codes of practice G 491. It is suitable for air, technical combustion gas acc. to the DVGW G 260/I, biogas, and gas produced at trash plants.

The VSBV reduces temporary pressure surges caused by fluctuations in system operation downstream from the pressure reducing regulator. It is required for use with the Regulator JSAV Overpressure Shut-off Valve.

Gas pressure regulating systems should be assembled with a Regulator JSAV safety over pressure slam shut off valve upstream of the regulator and safety relief valve VSBV. These safety valves are not required if the highest possible operating pressure of the regulator does not exceed the maximum permissible operating pressure of all devices connected downstream of the regulator.
