Industrial Burner for Gas BIC
BIC burners are designed for industrial furnaces and firing systems in the iron and steel industries in the precious, non-ferrous, and light metal sector, as well as in the plastics, fiber, and paper industries. Burners BIC and BICA can also be used in thermal incineration installations, as well as in dryers and hot-air generators.
The burner can be used in conjunction with the ceramic tube set TSC in furnaces with brick lining or ceramic fiber lining. No burner quarl is required to serve as combustion chamber.
Thanks to their medium to high outlet velocity (80 to 150 m/s), burners BIC and BICA are ideal for industrial furnaces whose temperature is controlled by an impulse system.
Features
- Diverse possible applications thanks to wide capacity range of up to 450 kW
- Suitable for intermittent operation thanks to high outlet velocity and high pulse magnitude
- High availability due to quick cooling time
- Ignition and flame control via the burner itself
- Suitable for any furnace wall thickness thanks to modular length adjustment
- Maintenance friendly thanks to modular design
- Low polluting level thanks to optimized combustion
- For use as ceiling or side-wall burner thanks to arbitrary installation position
- Installation facilitated by lightweight construction of the BICA

Staged control with pneumatic ratio
control system
The high output pulse at the burner generated by this type of control produces a uniform temperature distribution and good circulation of the furnace or kiln atmosphere, e.g. in heat treatment furnaces in the iron and non-ferrous metal industries or kilns for heavy-clay and fine ceramics. The pneumatic ratio control system offers maximum safety thanks to an air deficiency cut-out, with a constant lambda value being maintained while the air pressure varies. |
 |
Continuous control with zonal air control
This type of control produces high temperature accuracy where there is low circulation e.g. in roller hearth kilns in the heavy-clay ceramics industry. The capacity of the burners of a zone/group is adjusted using a central air and/or gas control element. |
 |
Stage-controlled heating system with lance
The main burner is controlled in stages by opening and closing the butterfly valve BVHM. The air pressure on the air/gas ratio control VAG produces a higher gas outlet pressure via the impulse line. The ratio of the gas volume to the air volume is kept constant. The control range is extended incrementally thanks to the low fire lance. This type of control is used in heat treatment in the iron and non-ferrous metal industries, for example. |
 |
Stage-controlled heating system with hot air compensation
For processes in heating furnaces in the steel industry, in which preheated combustion air at a temperature of up to 450°C must be controlled. In this example, the actuator IC 40 is regulated by a two-point controller to adjust the burner firing capacity. It runs in High/Low intermittent operation. The running time can be adjusted between 5 and 25 seconds. |
